Mackenzie Place examines a lone tower apartment that escaped the city. The multi-channel film presents what the building sees across five years, set to readings from Lindsay Bell’s ethnography Under Pressure: Diamond Mining and Everyday Life in Northern Canada that tell the building’s story and the stories of those who have made it their home. The accompanying prints depict the building as it is seen from the ground: a monument that nobody asked for.
